CEU Press and Liverpool University Press (LUP) are pleased to announce that the library at Cardiff University is now a member of the Opening the Future (OtF) programmes at both publishers

Staff and students at Cardiff have access to 100 eBooks at CEU Press on the history of the Central and Eastern European region, culture, and politics. And at LUP they can now access the Modern Languages Package which contains 37 eBooks on 'Contemporary Hispanic and Lusophone Cultures' and 'Liverpool Latin American Studies’, including titles on languages, politics, popular culture, and business.

The library will retain access to all of these books with both presses in perpetuity after three years of membership.

The library’s modest membership fee allows both presses to make new books open in ways that do not burden authors that don’t have research grants to pay BPCs. LUP and CEU Press use OtF membership funds to publish only new frontlist OA titles and have between them already published 13 titles all fully funded by the programme. Further books are in the production pipeline at both presses and will be released as further OtF funding accrues.

If you would like to see how your library might similarly enhance your digital collection of eBooks by becoming a member of Opening the Future, you can read more about the programme and benefits at openingthefuture.com.
