CEU Press is pleased to announce that the Library at the Institut für die Wissenschaften vom Menschen (Institute for Human Sciences) in Vienna is one of the latest to subscribe to our Opening the Future collective funding programme. Founded as a place of encounter in 1982 by a young Polish philosopher and two German colleagues in neutral Austria, the Institute’s initial mission was to create a meeting place for dissenting thinkers of Eastern Europe and prominent scholars from the West.
The Library has chosen to subscribe to the Editor’s Choice package which includes a broad selection of backlist books about the history, politics and culture of Central and Eastern Europe, handpicked by the editorial team at CEU Press. Staff and students at the IWM will get unlimited, perpetual access to 50 eBooks in the package.
In return, CEU Press will use their membership fees to fund new open access books, which are made freely available globally.
If you would like to see how your library might similarly enhance your digital collection of eBooks by becoming a member, you can watch a 60 second video and read more about the programme and benefits on the Opening the Future website: ceup.openingthefuture.net
