The Library at University of Nottingham recently became a major subscriber member of CEU Press’s OA monograph funding programme.
Nottingham has chosen to subscribe to all three packages of backlist eBooks at the press, enhancing the Library’s digital collection with a wide cross-section of 150 titles in total. With this membership subscription, staff and students at Nottingham now have access to 150 CEU Press books on the politics, economics, culture and history of Central and Eastern Europe. All are DRM-free, with concurrent/multi-user access, and after 3 years of membership the Library will retain access to all of them in perpetuity.
CEU Press commits to using all fees from these subscriptions to produce new frontlist eBooks in OA format, freely accessible to anyone. They have already published 10 titles, all fully funded by the programme, with further books planned in the production pipeline as further OtF funding accrues.
If you would like to see how your library might similarly enhance your digital collection of eBooks by becoming a member of Opening the Future, you can read more about the programme and benefits at: openingthefuture.net
The Library at University of Nottingham is now an Opening the Future member with both CEU Press and Liverpool University Press.
